1st Staplehurst Joins The District

As of 30th June 2026, I am delighted to welcome 1st Staplehurst Scout Group into Maidstone West Scout District.

As many of you will already be aware, Kent Scouts' Project Re-Draw is currently underway, with Weald and Tunbridge Wells Scout Districts merging. As part of this process, the leadership team at 1st Staplehurst Scout Group felt that they had a stronger connection with Maidstone than with Tunbridge Wells. This reflects the Group's history, having previously been part of Maidstone South Scout District, and before that, Maidstone Scout District.

The Group joins us with Squirrel, Beaver, Cub, and Scout Sections, and we are excited to welcome all of their young people, volunteers, and supporters into our District community.

I know everyone across Maidstone West will give 1st Staplehurst a very warm welcome and make them feel at home in our District. If you see members of the Group at District events (recognisable by their green and white scarf) please do go over, introduce yourself, and say hello. I look forward to seeing the friendships, collaboration, and opportunities that will come from welcoming another fantastic Scout Group into our District.
