Maidstone West District Scout Camp 2026!

59 Scouts from six troops across Maidstone West came together at Hamlet Wood Scout Campsite for the 24th District Scout Camp!

Forming 11 teams, the Scouts took part in the annual weekend competition, often a highlight of the Scouting calendar, combining adventure, skill-building and a healthy dose of friendly competition.

Patrols were challenged to put their Scouting skills and knowledge into practice, earning points for cooking meals over open fires, navigating woodland orienteering courses and demonstrating campcraft skills including fire lighting and pioneering.

Alongside the competition, Scouts enjoyed campfire songs, made new friends, caught up with old ones and strengthened the bonds within their patrols. With lovely weather throughout the weekend, it was a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and everything Scouting has to offer.

The event was a great celebration of teamwork, resilience and adventure, showing once again why Scouting inspires young people to try new things, challenge themselves and grow in confidence.

And, once again, congratulations to Yalding on taking the overall win!

A massive thank you to all the leaders and volunteers who gave their time and worked so hard to make the weekend possible.
