St. George’s Day - Meeting The Mayor!
27th April 2025

On the day of the parade, three Scouts from Maidstone West had the privilege of meeting the Mayor of Maidstone, Councillor John Perry, and the Mayoress, Jan Perry, for tea in the Mayor’s Parlour at Maidstone Town Hall, just before the St. George’s Day parade. They were joined by District Lead Volunteer Daniel Everest and District Chair Chris Bury.
During the meeting, the Scouts had the opportunity to share their experiences in Scouting and talk about the recent awards they have earned through the skills they’ve developed over the years.
Jack, a Cub Scout from Wateringbury Cub Pack, was recently awarded his Chief Scout's Silver Award.
Pearl, an Explorer Scout from Wanderers ESU, received her Young Leader Belt for her outstanding work as a Young Leader with Oakwood Cubs.
Noel, an Explorer Scout from Paragon ESU, also earned his Young Leader Belt for his dedication in supporting the Coxheath Beavers.
It was a proud moment for all involved as these young Scouts demonstrated the incredible achievements they have made through their commitment to Scouting.
